Transport Woes Continue

Another Day, Another Transport Crisis

Labor’s transport crisis has continued with Noarlunga train line commuters affected by switching problems and mechanical breakdowns over the past two days.

A switching problem at Lonsdale yesterday morning caused trains to run late and a mechanical breakdown on the line this morning resulted in four peak-hour services being cancelled.

Commuters then experienced additional delays with trains to Adelaide being overcrowded and running late.

Shadow Transport Minister Steven Griffiths said Labor should be ashamed of its public transport record.

“South Australians deserve an efficient and reliable public transport system, but commuters are quickly losing faith in our transport services.” Mr. Griffiths said.

“While Minister for Bus Timetables Fox continues to make a number of embarrassing gaffes about basic details of her junior portfolio, South Australian commuters are suffering under Labor’s chaotic public transport system.”

“This is the third disruption on our train lines in less than two weeks.” Mr. Griffiths said.

“Meanwhile, bus commuters are also continuing to experience significant problems with buses running late or not at all and drivers getting lost on routes.”

“Minister Fox and Transport Minister Conlon need to explain what they are going to do to fix South Australia’s public transport system.” Mr. Griffiths said.
