Beef Exports To China A Boost For Agricultural Sector

Victor P Taffa

Today’s announcement by the Federal and Chinese Governments to boost chilled beef exports to China is great news for Tasmania’s important agricultural sector, Minister for Primary Industries and Water Jeremy Rockliff said.

Hodgman Government is committed to a strong economy and creating jobs, and this announcement means more potential to increase production and growth for Tasmanian farmers and processors who will benefit from options and choice regarding market destinations.

“It adds to the momentum we have seen since coming to Government, including more than $1.2 Billion in exports to Japan, China and Korea for the 2015-16 financial year.”

“We will continue to work collaboratively with local industries to directly engage with our trading partners in these countries which have rapidly growing economies and an appetite for Tasmania’s premium products to match.” Mr. Rockliff said.
