Two men charged following separate incidents – Brisbane Water LAC

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command have arrested and charged a man following a pursuit in West Gosford last night.

About 7:15pm, an unmarked Police car was travelling on Racecourse Road, West Gosford near the intersection of the Central Coast Highway when a yellow and black Suzuki GSX motorcycle was allegedly detected travelling in excess of the speed limit on the highway.

Police will allege the motorcycle was detected travelling at 100km in the sign-posted 60km/h limit.

Officers attempted to stop the rider however he failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated before the rider was eventually stopped on Racecourse Road near Holden Street and arrested.

Police searched the 22-year-old man from Kariong and allegedly located five ecstasy tablets.

The man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Driving in a manner dangerous to the public,
  • Not comply with Police direction,
  • Possess prohibited drug as well as having his licence confiscated.

The man was granted bail and will appear at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 23 March.

In another matter, about 5pm yesterday, officers from the Brisbane Water Target Action Group (TAG) were conducting an operation with Waterways officials and were on Police launch “Ettalong” when they stopped the occupants of a boat at Booker Bay.

The skipper of the boat, a 39-year-old male Russian National, was subjected to a breath test and allegedly supplied a positive result.

The man was arrested and taken to Woy Woy Police Station where he allegedly supplied a high range reading of 0.165.

Police will allege at the time of stopping the boat there were a number of adults and children onboard and the craft did not have any life jackets.

The 39-year-old man was charged with navigate vessel with high range PCA and navigate unregistered vessel. He was granted bail and is expected to appear at Woy Woy Local Court on Tuesday 23 March.

Three people arrested following brawl at gate-crashed party – Ingleburn

Three men have been arrested and one man taken to hospital after being hit by a car following a public order incident at Ingleburn this morning.

About 12:35am, Police were called to a house in Lagonda Drive Ingleburn after a group of men gate crashed an 18th birthday party.

It is alleged there were a number of fights between the guests and the gate-crashers before the uninvited men left the home and were followed outside by a large number of people.

It is believed the uninvited men were attempting to leave the area in a car when the driver collided with a 19-year-old man who was standing in the road.

The 19-year-old suffered head injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment while two other people were treated at Campbelltown Hospital for glass cuts sustained during the incident.

Police from Macquarie Fields, Campbelltown, Camden and the Public Order & Riot Squad attended the scene and one man was arrested after being tasered by Police.

He was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for medical examination before being taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

Another man was arrested nearby by an off-duty Police officer and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station following an affray.

A third man was arrested after failing to comply with a Police move-on direction and was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he is currently assisting with inquiries.

Police investigations into the matter are continuing.

Man taken to Liverpool Hospital after being attacked by a rock

Police appeal after man in intensive care following assault – Glenfield

A man is in intensive care in hospital after being assaulted at a park in Glenfield early this morning.

About 1am, a 20-year-old man was drinking with friends in Seddon Park at Glenfield when they were approached by another group of men.

It is alleged during an altercation between the two groups the 20-year-old man was struck on the head with a rock.

He sustained serious head injuries and was taken by Ambulance to Liverpool Hospital where he has been admitted into the intensive care unit and is listed as being in a serious but stable condition.

Police were called to the park however the group of men fled the scene prior to their arrival.

Police arrest man allegedly armed with shot gun during break-in – Orchard Hills

A man has been charged after allegedly detaining and threatening a man and woman while armed with a shot gun during a break and enter in Orchard Hills yesterday.

About 11:50am, it is alleged a 40-year-old man broke into a home on Calverts Road at Orchard Hills while armed with a shot gun.

Police will allege the occupants of the home, a 58-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, returned home to find the man inside the house.

It is alleged the man and woman were confronted and detained by the offender who demanded money before forcing the man to hand over his key card and disclose his personal identification number.(P.I.N.)

The offender fled the scene and attended a shopping centre in St Clair where he allegedly used the stolen key card.

Police were notified about the transaction by the victim’s bank and attended the shopping centre where they arrested the man in a stolen car.

The 40-year-old Blackett man was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with 11 offences including:

  • Robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon,
  • Special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence,
  • Possess shortened firearm,
  • Possess ammunition,
  • Possess loaded firearm in public place,
  • Obtain money by deception
  • Take and drive conveyance.

The man was refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Police marshal emergency services to search for missing Victorian man Daniel Rosewall

Search continues for missing Victorian man – Broken Hill

Police will today continue their search for a Victorian man who went missing in scrubland near Broken Hill in the far west of New South Wales on Friday.

About 7am, Friday 29 January, Police found the red coloured Mazda 3, belonging to 28-year-old Daniel Thomas Rosewall, abandoned on a dirt road approximately 50km north of the township of Silverton after it had ran out of fuel.

Yesterday (Saturday 30 January) emergency services including:

  • Police,
  • Police helicopter,
  • Cessna plane,
  • State Emergency Service volunteers,
  • NSW Rural Fire Service,
  • Local land owners.

Conducted an extensive air and ground search of the Silverton area for Mr Rosewall.

There are serious concerns for Mr Rosewall’s welfare and Police fear he has become lost in the barren scrubland where temperatures of 40 ° have been recorded.

Police do not believe Mr Rosewall was equipped for the weather and terrain with the area being described as treacherous due to its remoteness and number of open mine shafts.

The search for Mr Rosewall was suspended last night and will resume at 7am today with Police and emergency services scouring an area near Eldee Station and the Barrier Ranges.

Police are appealing for anyone who has seen Mr Rosewall in the last 72 hours to contact them.

He is described as white/European appearance, 178cm tall, with a medium build and short dark coloured hair. He was last seen wearing:

  • Grey collared polo shirt,
  • Dark coloured shorts,
  • Black business shoes,
  • Baseball cap featuring a “Sox” motif.

Alleged car-jacker gets caught after crash – Pyrmont

A man has been arrested and will face court following an alleged assault and car-jacking in Pyrmont yesterday morning.

About 9:30am, two men were in a taxi on the Western Distributor off-ramp when they allegedly assaulted the 44-year-old male taxi driver before fleeing the scene.

A short time later it is alleged the pair carjacked a 24-year-old Waterloo man in Bulwarra Road at Pyrmont.

Police will allege one of the men approached the car and ordered the driver out of the vehicle, punched him in the face and dragged him out of the car, before driving from the scene and crashing into a wall on Bulwarra Road.

The victim flagged down a passing Police car and a 21-year-old Villawood man was arrested and taken to City Central Police Station while the other man ran from the car and was able to evade Police.

The 21-year-old allegedly failed a breath test recording a high range reading of 0.186.

He was charged with:

  • Aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle,
  • Assault occasioning actual bodily harm,
  • High range PCA,
  • Resist arrest,
  • Larceny,
  • Never licensed person drive on road.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

City Central detectives are continuing their investigations and are attempting to identify and locate the other man believed to be involved in the incident.

Police charge 3 men with alleged theft of mail

Three men in court following alleged mail theft – Rhodes

Police have arrested and charged three men following the theft of mail from a unit complex at Rhodes in Sydney’s Inner-West yesterday.

About 6:05am, Police attended Marquet Street, Rhodes after witnesses allegedly saw three men removing mail from letterboxes of a unit complex.

The men were observed to meet up at Rhodes Railway Station where they were stopped and spoken to by Police.

It will be alleged a car key was found on one of the men and fitted a Toyota Camry that was parked nearby.

During a search of the vehicle Police allegedly located a large amount of opened and unopened mail consisting of bank statements and new credit and debit cards in other people’s names.

The three men were arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where Police charged them with a total of 27 offences including:

  • A 31-year-old Villawood man and a 34-year-old Chester Hill man each charged with five counts of goods in custody and six counts of appropriate mail receptacle.
  • A 34-year-old Chester Hill man charged with six counts of appropriate mail receptacle.

All three men were refused bail and are expected to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.

Brawl at Liverpool party turns into a stabbing

Man seriously injured after brawl – Liverpool

Police have arrested two males following a brawl in Liverpool after a man was taken to hospital suffering serious chest and facial injuries last night.

About 9:05pm, Police were called to Grimson Crescent, Liverpool following reports a man had been stabbed at the location.

It is believed an 18-year-old man was at a party at the premises when he became involved in an argument with a number of other men.

During the altercation the 18-year-old sustained wounds to his throat and chest and was later taken to Liverpool Hospital by Ambulance where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The other members of the group fled in a BMW prior to the arrival of Police.

A short time later Police who were patrolling the area sighted the BMW on Woodlands Avenue, Liverpool.

The car was stopped and the occupants of the vehicle spoken to before an 18-year-old Liverpool man and a 17-year-old male from Warwick Farm were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where they are assisting Police with their inquiries.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.

Police appeal for public assistance in assault case – Lake Illawarra LAC

Police are seeking public assistance to identify three men in relation to the vicious assault of two others at Flinders, on the State’s South Coast.

Around 2am on Thursday 31 December, two men, aged 22, were walking east along Wattle Road, near Jindabyne Road, after leaving a nearby party, when they were confronted by a group of males.

A male allegedly shoulder-charged one of the 22 year olds while a second attacker allegedly struck the second victim in the face and chest with a broken bottle.

Police believe a third male then punched the first victim in the face and chased him down the street with a fence paling.

The first victim suffered a broken jaw in the attack while his companion received 15 stitches to his chin and five to his chest.

The first attacker is described as being in his early 20s, about 173cm tall, of medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a T-Shirt at the time of the incident.

The second is described as being Aboriginal in appearance, about 170cm tall, with a medium to athletic build. He was wearing a light coloured T-Shirt and jeans.

The third man is aged in his early 20s, Aboriginal in appearance, 170cm, with a medium build, dark crew-cut hair-style and a moustache. He was wearing a white T-Shirt and jeans.

Police from the Lake Illawarra Local Area Command are keen to speak to anyone with information about the attack.

P Plate Epping teenager charged twice in 2 days

Teenager arrested twice in two days for alleged drink-driving

Police have arrested and charged a Sydney “P-plater” twice in two days for alleged drink-driving offences.

Around 3.30am today, Police from the Eastwood Local Area Command were on patrol in High Street, Epping, when they pulled over a white 1993 Toyota Camry, allegedly exceeding the speed limit.

The 19-year-old driver from Epping was submitted to a roadside breath-test and taken to the Eastwood Police Station where he allegedly returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.07.

Checks by officers revealed the same driver was stopped two days earlier on Pennant Hills Road at Pennant Hills.

At 1am on Thursday 28 January, the teen was arrested and conveyed to the Eastwood Police Station where he allegedly returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.06.

The 19-year-old was charged with:

  • Two counts of drive with low range PCA,
  • One count of custody of a knife in a public place,
  • One count of negligent driving
  • One count of not comply with P2 licence conditions (not display P plate).

The man was granted Police bail on the condition he does not occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle prior to his appearance in the North Sydney Local Court on 25 February.
