Grafton Police
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman who went missing on the State’s north coast last month.
Jasmine Morris, aged 20 years, was last seen by a family member about 8am on 8 October when she left a home in Chapman Street, Grafton.
After failing to contact her for several days, family members reported Ms Morris missing to police on 20 October.
Ms Morris has not accessed any of her bank accounts since she was last seen and police hold grave concerns for her welfare.
Jasmine Morris, who is also known as Jasmine Moore, is described as white/European in appearance, olive complexion, about 155cm tall, about 55kg with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes.
At the time of her disappearance, Ms Morris was wearing a long black cotton skirt, thongs and several rings on the fingers of both her hands.

Holroyd Local Area Command
Police from the Holroyd Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances that led to a man suffering a gunshot wound to his lower leg yesterday.
Sometime between 3pm and 5pm a 33-year-old man was driving his 2000 model white Toyota Corolla on Fullagar Road in Holroyd when he became involved in an incident with another vehicle.
Both drivers stopped and before the victim could approach the other vehicle, a number of shots were fired at him.
One of the bullets lodged in his lower leg.
The other driver fled the scene.
The victim managed to drive himself to a friend’s home, who then took him to hospital.
He was admitted to Westmead Hospital where he will undergo surgery to his leg.
He remains in a stable condition.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard the incident yesterday, or who may have been in the area of Fullagar Road, to contact Holroyd Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

North Coast Region
Human remains have been discovered by swimmers at a creek in Dairyville, about 15km west of Coffs Harbour, on the State’s North Coast yesterday.
About 4pm a father and his three children went swimming in a creek located on a 42ha property.
While swimming the family noticed the lower portion of a human body lying on the creek bed.
Police were contacted and a crime scene was secured.
Forensic examinations are underway.
At this stage, police are treating the death as suspicious.
A further search of the property will commence this morning with assistance of specialist police and the State Emergency Services personnel.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information surrounding the discovery to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Hurstville Local Area Command
Police have arrested a man after being threatened with a meat cleaver.
A man has been charged by Police following an incident in Allawah overnight.
About 10.45pm two officers observed a man to narrowly miss being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road at the intersection of Railway Parade and Elizabeth Street.
Police stopped and spoke with the 35-year-old man who appeared to be heavily affected by alcohol.
The officers attempted to assist the man when he became very aggressive and allegedly produced a meat cleaver and a knife and threatened to kill the officers.
One of the police officers drew their firearm, while the other deployed capsicum spray with no effect.
The pair called for urgent assistance and further police responded.
The accused sat on a bus shelter while police were calling on him to drop his weapons.
The Duty Officer for the Hurstville Local Area Command attended the scene and deployed his Taser and the arrest was made.
The man was taken to St George Hospital where he is receiving treatment for injuries sustained earlier in the evening.
He is expected to be charged with using a weapon to avoid apprehension, affray, assault police, and being armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
Bail is yet to be determined.

Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident overnight where a number of men were involved in a fight and one was stabbed.
About 8pm approximately 100 people were attending a Halloween party at a home in Georgina Avenue at Gorokan.
During the party an 18-year-old Charmhaven man became involved in an altercation with a 22-year-old Campbelltown man.
A 24-year-old Gorokan man also became involved in the incident and police will allege that he stabbed the Charmhaven man in the rear torso.
A number of other party goers also became involved in the brawl and police used capsicum spray to disperse them.
The injured man was treated at the scene by ambulance and conveyed to Gosford Hospital for treatment to his stab wounds. He is in a stable condition.
Detectives arrested two men who were taken to The Entrance Police Station.
The 24-year-old Gorokan man has been charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm with intent and was refused bail. He will appear at the Gosford Bail Court this morning.
The 22-year-old Campbelltown man was charged with affray. He has been granted conditional bail to appear at the Wyong Local Court on 16 December 2009.
Police believe that there were a number of people who may have witnessed the altercation at the party but left prior to and during the arrival of police.

Port Macquarie Crash Investigation Unit
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a man in a crash on the State’s North Coast this morning.
About 4.30am a Holden Commodore station wagon was travelling east on Adin Street, Scotts Head, when it left the roadway and hit a power pole.
A 20-year-old Macksville man, who was a rear seat passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Bondi man, and two 21-year-old male passengers were taken to Macksville Hospital in a stable condition.
Police from the Port Macquarie Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Lake Macquarie Local Area Command
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a man in a crash on the Central Coast last night.
About 11.25pm, a Holden Commodore was travelling on Old Wyee Road, Morisset when it left the road and struck a tree.
The driver, a 25-year-old Yarrawonga Park man, died at the scene.
A 19-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was taken to John Hunter Hospital with internal injuries and is in a stable condition.
A 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man in the rear of the vehicle were also taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment to head injuries.
Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command are investigating the crash and anyone who can assist with inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Central Hunter Detectives
Police from Maitland are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident overnight where a number of men were involved in a fight.
About 2.50am police believe two groups of males were involved in an altercation on Ken Tumban Drive near the intersection of Bulwer Street in the Maitland CBD.
As a result of the incident a 39-year-old male was transported to John Hunter Hospital where he received treatment and is in a stable condition.
Police believe that there were a number of people who may have witnessed the altercation after leaving licensed premises in the area.

Balmain Detectives
About 1am today (Saturday 31 October 2009) a 26-year-old woman was walking in Wentworth Park Road when she was allegedly grabbed by a man and forced into Wentworth Park where she was attacked.
The woman later returned home and contacted police. She was then taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.
About 2.35am, police located a 39-year-old man in the vicinity of Wentworth Park.
He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station for questioning in relation to the alleged incident.
Later a man was arrested and will face court today, charged with the alleged serious assault of a woman in a park at Glebe yesterday.
It will be alleged during the incident the woman was knocked unconscious and assaulted with items of her clothing removed.
The woman later returned home and contacted police before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.
About 2.35am, police located and arrested a 39-year-old Pyrmont man in the vicinity of Wentworth Park and took him to Newtown Police Station for questioning.
He was charged with attempt choke/strangle with intent to commit serious indictable offence and inflict actual bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses to the assault to come forward.
Anyone who saw a male acting in a suspicious manner in the vicinity of Wentworth Park Road or Wentworth Park at Glebe between 1am and 2am yesterday, or with information about the alleged incident, is asked to contact Balmain Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command
About 6.50pm on Thursday 8th October 2009, the 13-year-old girl was jogging with her father through a bush track at Boambee East when she became separated.
While the girl was walking alone along the track, she saw a male standing on a vacant block of land.
The girl kept walking and a short time later was grabbed from behind by the male.
The male threatened the girl with a knife and forced her to walk to a nearby playground.
A short time later, the male placed the knife into his pocket and ran from the scene and onto nearby Avonleigh Drive.
The girl ran and found her father before contacting police.
Investigators from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command have interviewed the girl and have a description of the male.
He is described as being of Asian or Pacific Islander appearance, 16-17 years old, 178 to 180cm tall, tanned skin, athletic build, with short brown spiky hair and a distinctive five centimetre scar on the left side of his neck which runs diagonally down his neckline.
Police have released a COMFIT image after a teenage girl was grabbed and threatened with a knife near Coffs Harbour earlier this month.
