Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional and Rural Development Peter Ryan have today announced Lachlan Bruce as the new Chief Executive of Regional Development Victoria (RDV).

Mr. Bruce has extensive experience in regional and economic development, having held several senior executive positions with the Victorian and South Australian public services.

“I am delighted to be able to announce we have attracted a strong leader with experience in infrastructure development, investment attraction and regional economic development to lead RDV at a very important time for both the organisation and for regional Victoria.” Mr. Ryan said.

“Mr. Bruce will lead RDV as it implements the Coalition Government’s flagship regional program, the $1 Billion Regional Growth Fund, which will help build strong and vibrant cities and country communities.”

“The Regional Growth Fund will spearhead a new era of prosperity, more opportunities and a better quality of life for regional Victorians.” Mr. Ryan said.

Mr. Bruce is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of the Department of Trade and Economic Development in South Australia and has worked previously for RDV and the then Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (Victoria).

“I would like to thank Xavier Csar for acting in the role of Chief Executive with Regional Development Victoria, in particular for his work overseeing the development of the Regional Growth Fund legislation and the move of RDV into the Department of Planning and Community Development this year.” Mr. Ryan said.

“Dr. Csar will continue as Acting Chief Executive of RDV until Mr. Bruce takes up the role in October.”
