Leader of the Opposition and LNP Leader John-Paul Langbroek have called on Queenslanders to unite and support each other in what may prove to be Queensland’s Darkest Hour.

“We need to support all those Queenslanders who have suffered such terrible losses yesterday and last night in the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba.” Mr. Langbroek said.

“I fear today the full scale of the magnitude of the disaster will be found to have been much greater than first thought.”

“There are people who have lost family and friends, their homes, family histories, and it appears that there are many people still unaccounted for.” Mr. Langbroek said.

“We must unite when facing such an enormous tragedy and do what we can for our friends, neighbours and fellow Queenslanders in their time of need and grief.”

“As access becomes available I intend to travel to the areas of devastation today, as I have visited other areas affected by the floods over the past couple of weeks without hindering the recovery process, to offer my support to the victims and to see what will be required to rebuild these communities.” Mr. Langbroek said.
