Premier Colin Barnett today announced the State Government will provide $60,000 to ensure stars from the 2015 FRINGE WORLD Festival can travel to communities in the Wheatbelt, Goldfields-Esperance, South-West and Great Southern regions.

Mr. Barnett said the Department of the Premier and Cabinet had supported the Outer Fringe tour since 2012.

“The FRINGE WORLD Festival is exciting for the people of Perth who can sample more than 500 shows at venues around Perth. I am very pleased that the State Government supports the Outer Fringe tour which will ensure some of the FRINGE WORLD fun can be enjoyed by people outside Perth.”

“It also means festival performers receive further performance opportunities.” Mr. Barnett said.

In 2015, Outer Fringe will feature a selection of some of the best local, national and international Fringe performers hitting the road as part of a Kids Comedy Gala.

The Kids Comedy Gala will tour from January 16 to February 8 reaching Merredin, Northam, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Albany, Esperance and Ravensthorpe. The line-up features the hilarious Mr Snot Bottom, hip-hop YouTube sensation Chris Turner and Josh Earl from ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks.

Tickets for Perth’s 2015 FRINGE WORLD Festival went on sale this week. The program – billed as ‘31 Days of Perthect’ – runs from January 23 to February 22 and is a packed line-up of shows from Western Australia and around the world including cabaret, dance, film, theatre, comedy and visual arts.

The Government, through Lotterywest and the Department of Culture and the Arts, has been a proud supporter of FRINGE WORLD since its inception in 2011.

The Government’s support of the 2015 FRINGE WORLD Festival, including Outer Fringe, is $1.23 Million.
