New Development Consent Authority Chair Sought To Replace Denis Burke

Expressions Of Interest Open For New Development Consent Authority Chair

Acting Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Eva Lawler today thanked Development Consent Authority (DCA) Chairman Denis Burke for his work with the Authority since August 2014.

Development Consent Authority is responsible for determining applications for subdivisions and development across the Territory.

Ms. Lawler said Mr. Burke had recently advised he was unavailable for re-appointment.

 

“Planning in the Northern Territory, like many other jurisdictions, is complex and often surrounded by a lot of emotion and I thank Mr. Burke for his work over the past few years.” Ms. Lawler said.

“Mr. Burke has worked very hard in this challenging role right across the Northern Territory.” Ms. Lawler said.

Expressions of Interest for a new DCA chairperson will be advertised across the Territory from tomorrow, and applications are invited from suitably qualified members of the community.

Applicants with expertise or special interest in town planning or related fields such as land administration, engineering, surveying and architectural design are encouraged to apply.

Expressions of Interest are open until Wednesday 14 June 2017.

Appointment will commence on 1 August 2017 for a period of 2 years.
