The new Corowa swimming pool is one step closer due to a $1 Million State Government funding injection through the ClubGRANTS Category 3 scheme announced by New South Wales (NSW) Deputy Premier Troy Grant and Member for Albury Greg Aplin today.

The new swimming pool with disabled access, children’s play area, café, new landscaping and shade sails will replace the 60-year-old pool. Mr. Grant said the NSW Government is committed to enhancing local facilities to meet the needs of thriving regional communities.

“This major redevelopment has been championed by many members across the community and I congratulate them on their passion for increased participation in sport and recreation.” Mr. Grant said.

“The upgrade of Corowa pool is a terrific boost to the region and an upgrade of this magnitude is well overdue and well deserved by the local community.”

“The NSW Liberals & Nationals government is delivering on its election commitment to focus Category 3 ClubGRANTS on community sports and cultural facilities and disaster preparedness and relief projects.” Mr. Grant said.

Mr. Aplin said the transformation is a terrific result for the community and is an example of state and local governments working together.

“A new swimming pool will be a wonderful community facility and a well-loved asset for both locals and visitors to the region for generations to come.” Mr. Aplin said.

“I congratulate Corowa Shire Council for its outstanding application and perseverance in raising the much needed funds for the $3 Million redevelopment.”
