Hodgman Government believes engagement in high quality early learning sets children up for a brighter future by breaking the cycle of disadvantage in Tasmania.

B4 Early Years Coalition is part of the Government’s commitment to providing quality early learning and development experiences for all young children, regardless of where they live or their family background, as reflected in the Education Act 2016, Minister for Education and Training Jeremy Rockliff said.

Co-chaired by past Chair of the Tasmanian Early Years Foundation, Elizabeth Daly, and Tasmanian Commissioner for Children, Mark Morrissey, the B4 Early Years Coalition will connect people and organisations committed to improving early childhood outcomes in Tasmania.

Past members of the Tasmanian Early Years Foundation, Dr. Dorothy Scott, Dr. Fiona Wagg, Ian Wright and Magdalena Lane, will also join the new Coalition Leaders identified through the EOI process.

There was great interest in the B4 Early Years Coalition leadership and I would like to thank all applicants. There will be further opportunity to be involved in the B4 Early Years Coalition as a B4 Early Years Coalition Member or Supporter.

Congratulations to all of the appointed leaders of the B4 Early Years Coalition. I am looking forward to working with the Coalition as we progress our key focus on the early years.

“Early years are critical for the development and success of our children. With the Budget back on track, these important years are receiving the funding and structural reform they need to succeed.” Mr. Rockliff said.
