Minister Announces Screen Territory Industry Reference Group Members

Screen Territory Industry Reference Group Announced

A group of highly qualified and experienced screen industry members has been appointed to the Screen Territory Industry Reference Group.

The Industry Reference Group has been established to promote and support the work of Screen Territory by providing advice on the enhanced Grants Program and all other areas.

This will ensure that the Screen Territory deliver the best possible outcomes across the Northern Territory film and screen industry.

 

Minister for Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss said the experienced group would help deliver the best possible outcomes for the sector.

“The local screen industry is a vibrant, growing sector and I want to ensure we are providing the best possible support and have effective policy in place to assist the industry.” Ms. Moss said.

“It is important to have the right policies and mechanisms in place which work for the industry and make it easier for success to ensue.”

“This is an exciting and vital step for the local industry and one which I believe will bring about some real and positive momentum.”

The Group will provide advice to the Minister via the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Tourism and Culture.

The Industry Reference Group has been established initially for a period until 30 June 2017 (inclusive).

Appointed to the Industry Reference Group are:

Andrew Hyde (Chair) – More than 25 years’ experience as a cameraman, producer in the NT, current president of NT branch of Australian Cinematographers Society

Rachel Clements – Leading NT producer (Blown Away and 8MMM Aboriginal Radio)

David Curl – Senior NT industry member, and experienced documentary maker with international connections, and is very passionate advocate for the industry

Danielle MacLean– Senior NT industry member, indigenous film maker, one of Australia’s most in-demand writers of TV

Aurora Sheelings– Independent filmmaker as well as in-house experience with broadcasters
