Newly redeveloped Loxton Research Centre has topped the state at the Master Builders SA 2017 Building Excellence Awards.

“I congratulate Michael Kregar Building and its contractors and suppliers who have delivered a building of outstanding quality which has been recognised with this award.” Minister for Regional Development Geoff Brock said.

At an award ceremony on Friday, Riverland-based company Michael Kregar Building Pty Ltd received the Excellence in a Commercial/Industrial Building ($2 Million-$5 Million) Award for its work on the new component of the Loxton Research Centre.

“Redevelopment was one of the largest projects we’ve done since forming the company in 2007 and we’re extremely proud to have been part of this project, particularly as a proud Riverland contractor.” Michael Kregar Building Pty Ltd Director Michael Kregar said.

Background

Total redevelopment, which included refurbishment of the existing centre and the building of the new conference facility, was valued at $7.5 Million.

Project was managed by Primary Industries and Regions SA, and funded as part of the $265 Million Federal Government-funded South Australian River Murray Sustainability (SARMS) Program.

Locals can visit a free SA Living Artists (SALA) exhibition, taking place in the new conference facility, from now until August 25 during business hours.
