Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss, has today announced the opening of Live Darwin Arts Program Round 2.

“We promised to transform the Darwin CBD into a world-class tourist and cultural destination, which will create many jobs for Territorians, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.” Minister Moss said.

“Through Live Darwin Arts we are providing funding for arts organisations, freelance arts producers and groups for new and existing arts and creative events and activities that will activate Darwin’s CBD from January 2018 to June 2018, providing a big boost to local jobs and businesses.”

Funding of up to $50,000 is available for multiple activities from January 2018 to June 2018 to Northern Territory non-profit arts organisations, freelance arts producers and groups for proposals that revitalise Darwin’s CBD through arts and creative projects.

Live Darwin Arts prioritises activities for the Darwin CBD activating empty shops, partnering with business, retail and property owners and supporting public art opportunities.

Funding of up to $100,000 is also available for a Producer/s and Production Support to support the delivery of Live Darwin Arts Round 2 in collaboration with Arts NT.

Successful applicants will support, produce and promote a calendar of activity and grow active community access and participation in the program.

Inaugural Live Darwin Arts program was launched on 1 June 2017 with a similar arts program titled Live Alice Mparntwe Arts for Alice Springs CBD.

Live Darwin Arts Round 2 closes at 5 pm, Friday 27 October 2017.

“Territory Government is investing $100 Million towards implementing our plan to transform and revitalise the Darwin CBD and create Australia’s defining Capital of the North.” Minister Moss said.
