  • School for kindergarten to Year 6 students

The first 500 students walked through the doors of Harrisdale Primary School this week one of the newest public schools in Perth’s southern suburbs.

Education Minister Peter Collier today officially opened the school and said it formed part of an educational precinct for the growing Harrisdale community.

“This fantastic new school is filled with the latest technology and is easing enrolment pressure on neighbouring primary schools.” Mr. Collier said.

“A new secondary school will open in 2017 next door. I am sure this physical link between the two schools will encourage strong ties and many opportunities.”

Harrisdale Primary School includes

  • An inclusive classroom for students with special needs,
  • An art and craft room,
  • A library resource centre,
  • A music room,
  • A covered assembly area and canteen,
  • A dental therapy centre, toilets, multi-purpose hard courts,
  • A junior oval and cricket nets.

“The modern facilities cater for the needs and aspirations of all local families, and high-quality and innovative teachers are supporting every student to reach their potential.” Mr. Collier said.

“There has been a significant level of consultation with the community to develop the direction the school is taking and to ensure all students are represented.”
