LandCorp will this month undertake the Biggest Regional Land Survey in Western Australia’s history.

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said the Online Survey would improve the Co-ordination, Planning and Delivery of Light, General, Heavy or Special Industrial Land in Regional WA.

The Survey includes Questions specific to each of the State’s Nine Regions, allowing respondents to focus on their area of interest, while also providing data with State-wide Implications.

“The Regional Land Survey will provide an annual measure of demand for Industrial Land in Regional WA.” Mr. Grylls said.

“Together with Regional Development Commissions; Local Governments; Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry; and the Departments of Planning; State Development; and Regional Development and Lands, LandCorp is working to ensure Industrial Land is being developed to meet market needs and ensure a strategic approach to Land Supply.”

The Minister said LandCorp’s Industrial Estates played an important role in supporting Regional Economic Development.

“Importantly, the survey will help with the ongoing Development of Industry Attraction Programs to enhance Regional Economies, Business Investment and Employment Growth.” the Minister said.

Mr. Grylls said the survey results would go beyond providing information for Planning Agencies and Local Governments to determine market demand for Industrial Land in the Regions.

“The findings will also help Developers, Landowners, Tenants, Businesses and Industry to undertake informed Preliminary Planning and Develop Business Cases.” Mr. Grylls said.

The Online Survey has opened and Closes at 5 pm (WST) on Friday December 3, 2010.
