Minister for Police Fire and Emergency Management Rene Hidding today officially opened the Glamorgan Spring Bay Fire and Emergency Services Facility.

“The new building will house the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS), the State Emergency Service (SES) and Ambulance Tasmania (AT), with each service having their own storage areas, large vehicle bays and ample parking.” Mr. Hidding said.

Swansea Volunteer Rescue also sits alongside and will share the training room facilities.

“This facility could not have been built if it were not for the cooperation between the TFS, the SES, AT, and our other partner agencies within all three levels of government, including the Federal Government’s National Disaster Resilience Program.”

“This new combined facility, which is supported by a large number of volunteers in the region, will allow a rapid response from emergency services to a wide area extending beyond the township of Swansea, and is a great example of what can be achieved through a whole-of-government cooperative approach.”

“The Hodgman State Government is committed to ensuring our dedicated emergency services have the best facilities possible to help the Tasmanian community.” Mr. Hidding said.
