First New South Wales Female Minister For Primary Industries Resigns

Deputy Premier and Leader of the Nationals John Barilaro today thanked the Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson for her contribution to regional NSW, after the Nationals MP today announced she would be retiring from State Parliament.

“Katrina Hodgkinson has worked tirelessly for the people of Southern NSW for the last 18 and a half years.” Deputy Premier Barilaro said.

“She has contributed to public life for the better part of two decades, and her experience will be missed by the Parliamentary team.”

“Katrina was the first female Minister for Primary Industries which is a remarkable achievement.”

“I thank her sincerely for the work she has done in her electorates of both Burrinjuck and Cootamundra, and wish her all the very best for the future.” Deputy Premier Barilaro said.

Voters in the Cootamundra Electorate will head to the polls in a By-Election where the successor will have big shoes to fill with the resignation of Katrina Hodgkinson from Parliament.
