The Hodgman State Government is a strong supporter of Tasmania’s award-winning tourism sector, and I am very pleased the Turnbull Federal Government has committed funding to facilitate the completion of the Three Capes Track, Minister for Environment Parks and Heritage Matthew Groom said.

“Funding ads to the $4 Million we have already allocated towards Stage Three of the track, which is focused on upgrading the Cape Raoul area.”

Detailed planning of the works is currently underway, with considerations being given to track design and specification, preparation of environmental management controls, and pre-construction works, and the additional funding will enable further expansion and enhancement of the Three Capes Track experience.

“Bookings for the Three Capes Track recently exceeded 7,000, and the completion of Stage Three will confirm the track as one of the world’s top tourism destinations while creating jobs and growth for the Tasmanian economy.” Mr. Groom said.
