Perth Royal Show visitors will have the chance to enter a draw for a place at the Eating the Archives luncheon one of the highlights of the Commonwealth Festival Perth 2011 program.

Agriculture and Food Minister Terry Redman said local firms from Torbay to Bullsbrook have generously donated produce for the event.

“Eating the Archives is a collaboration between the State Records Office (SRO) and the Department of Agriculture and Food which will see celebrated chef Hadleigh Troy from Restaurant Amuse reinvent menus from past State occasions using some of WA’s finest produce.” Mr. Redman said.

“SRO and the Department of Agriculture and Food share an interest in our State’s food history, so it is only fitting that this initiative is supported through the Buy West Eat Best message and our generous producers.”

“Berry Sweet Strawberries and Bannister Downs have donated their finest strawberries and cream for the dessert course – strawberries and cream feature in archived menus from previous State dinners which will be reinvented and reinterpreted for the event.”

Other local suppliers involved include Kailis Bros, Torbay Asparagus and Vasse Felix.
