Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner

New Business Park To Be Developed By Landbridge

Chief Minister Michael Gunner and Mr. Ye, Chairman of the Landbridge Group, today announced that Landbridge will develop the Landbridge Industry and Logistics Park for Port and Trade related logistic activities within the East Arm Logistics Precinct.

This development will take place over the next 12 years, and will provide jobs to Territorians both in the construction and operational phases.

“This investment is a show of confidence in the Territory economy and is evidence of the Territory’s strong relationship with China.” Chief Minister Gunner said.

Industry and Logistics Park is a potential site for cold stores and warehouses to support Landbridge’s existing activities connected with their long-term lease of the Darwin Port.

“This facility will enhance the supply chain capacity of the Northern Territory, which is important news for our exporters and is great for Territory jobs.” Chief Minister Gunner said.

Industry and Logistics Park will be located on a 34 ha parcel of land along Berrimah Road which was sold to Landbridge by the Territory’s Land Development Corporation.

Land for the development has been sold under a commercial arrangement, which means the sale price is commercial-in-confidence, however it was above the independent valuation received.

“Landbridge is well positioned to attract international investment into their new Industry and Logistics Park and leverage broader trade, commerce and business activity through the Port.” Chief Minister Gunner said.

“This is a strategic development by Landbridge that will help them drive more business through the Port which is good for the Territory economy.”

Tenants of the Landbridge Industry and Logistics Park are expected to be Chinese and Australian businesses focussing on trade between the Territory and Landbridge’s Chinese base in Rizhao.

Logistics activities, including cold store facilities, are expected to be a significant component of the Industry and Logistics Park. It will be built to a standard consistent with the Territory’s Land Development Corporation’s Darwin Business Park, also located at East Arm.
