Strengthening Industry Ties In Indonesia

Minister for Primary Industry and Resources, Ken Vowles, will visit Indonesia from Sunday, 4 December-Saturday 10 December, 2016.
“This is my first overseas trip as Minister and visiting Indonesia is important to promote the Territory as an ongoing supplier of choice in the export industry.” Minister Vowles said.
“Cattle production is the largest primary industry sector in the Territory, contributing $360 Million annually to the Territory’s economy.”
“We are doing what we can to promote our industry in the Asian market by building on relationships with government and industry representatives.”
“We are here to show our trade partners that the Territory produces premium product.” Minister Vowles said.
“The government is committed to developing links and building relationships with our neighbours.”
“The visit provides a great opportunity to raise awareness of the Government’s commitment to the revival of the Arafura Games.”
“I will be meeting delegates of the 2016 BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games.” Minister Vowles said.
BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games is a biennial sporting event between the regions of the four member countries of BIMP-EAGA; Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
“Meeting delegates from the BIMP-EAGA events strengthen ties between the Northern Territory and South East Asian countries.”
“This event will help bring back the Arafura Games in 2019 and encourage participation within these four key countries.” Minister Vowles said.
