Attorney-General Announces New Magistrates’ Appointments

New Magistrates Ready To Service SA Courts

Attorney-General John Rau has today announced the appointments of Ms. Alison Adair and Mr. Rodney Oates as Magistrates.

Ms. Adair has over 30 years experience as a litigation practitioner and was a consultant at McDonald Steed McGrath Lawyers, as well as a sessional conciliation officer in the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

Mr. Oates, who has 25 years experience, is a self-employed solicitor at his own firm. He has worked at both the Aboriginal Legal Right Movement and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.

“I extend my congratulations to them on their appointments.” Attorney-General Rau said.

“They have many years of experience in the legal profession and they will be an asset to the Magistrate’s Court.”

“I am certain they will both serve the South Australian justice system and the broader community with great professionalism.” Attorney-General Rau said.

Ms. Adair has been appointed on a full-time basis, whilst Mr. Oates has been appointed on a part-time basis.
