Adult Learners Week Grant Applications Open Until 5 June 2017

Apply Now For Grants Of Up To $3,000 For Adult Learners’ Week Events

Not-for-profit community organisations and adult community education providers are invited to apply for grants to host events and projects during Adult Learners’ Week from 1-8 September 2017.

“I encourage adult community education providers to get involved in Adult Learners’ Week events.” Minister for Higher Education and Skills Susan Close said.

Two levels of grants are available:

  • $1,000 Engagement Grants to encourage adults to come and try something new Organisations can apply to deliver short courses or events that showcase the variety of learning opportunities and experiences available
  • $3,000 Skills Grants that demonstrate positive learning outcomes and skill development linked to the theme Take the leap, rediscover learning in celebration of the learning journey and how it changes lives.

Applications are open from Monday 1 May until 5 pm Monday 5 June 2017.

Background

Grants will be allocated through a competitive selection process. Applications must demonstrate:

  • How new participants will be attracted to the organisation;
  • How the project enhances the services being offered by the organisation;
  • How the Take the leap theme is reflected with a focus on the development of innovative and engaging programs that foster current and future learning opportunities;
  • Creativity, ensuring projects are tailored to community needs in the region.

Funded projects will be included on the online and printed calendar of events to promote and encourage participation from the community.
