Minister for Mining Adam Brooks said that it’s a great honour and privilege to have been appointed a Minister in the Hodgman Liberal Government.

“I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to guide the mining sector through the current market challenges and build on the excellent work done by Paul Harriss.” Mr. Brooks said.

“I am also very pleased to be minister responsible for the building and construction sector which employs more than 16,000 people.”

The building and construction sector is a power house in our economy and I am committed to working with it to generate more jobs.

“I also look forward to working with the racing industry, another of our biggest small business employers, to continue the great work of Jeremy Rockliff who has put it on a path to sustainability.” Mr. Brooks said.

“I’m passionate about my community in the North West and across Tasmania. I’ve worked hard all my life and I’ve been fortunate to be successful in business.”

“I entered politics to make a real difference and to give back to the community which I am honoured to be able to represent. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in the Hodgman Liberal Government and now the Cabinet.” Mr. Brooks said.

Ministerial Appointment

Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein said that it is an honour to be appointed the Minister for Forestry and have the opportunity to continue the very good work that retired Minister Paul Harriss has begun.

“Tasmania’s forest industry has been revived under Paul’s leadership, together with the knowledge and confidence that it has the support of a Government that backs our resource sectors. The job destroying forestry deal has been torn up and the strongest workplace protection laws in the country have been introduced to protect Tasmanian jobs.” Mr. Gutwein said.

“I look forward to continuing a strong working relationship with the industry to ensure it has a bright future and that Forestry Tasmania is on a sustainable pathway.”

“Tasmania’s forest industry is one of the pillars of our economy and a backbone for our regional communities. I am committed to working with the industry, its workers and the communities it supports.” Mr. Gutwein said.
