Change Of Premier Sees Continued Business Slump

Victor P Taffa

South Australian business conditions – and confidence – have taken another hit with NAB’s Monthly Business Survey for October delivering bad news for Premier Weatherill.

The resignation of Mr. Rann as Premier and the instalment of Premier Weatherill last month have clearly made no difference to South Australian businesses.

“NAB’s Monthly Business Survey for October was released today and revealed, in trend terms, SA has the weakest business conditions in Australia.” Shadow Treasurer Evans said.

“This State Labor Government has mismanaged the economy so badly and businesses are well aware Premier Weatherill has been in Cabinet nine years, supporting the decisions to make SA businesses the highest taxed in the nation.”

In addition, the report shows that for the third month in a row, SA business confidence remains the lowest of all mainland States.

“NAB’s business survey for August and September revealed South Australian business confidence in trend terms as the lowest of all mainland states.” Mr. Evans said.

“Now October’s report shows the same result. This is when Mr. Weatherill took the leadership reins and South Australian business confidence still remains frighteningly low.

“Premier Weatherill is no inspiration to business.” Mr. Evans said.
