Global Software Company Brings 40 Jobs To Victoria

Global software company The Attachmate Group Inc today opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne and committed to create 40 new highly skilled Victorian jobs.

Minister for Technology Gordon Rich-Phillips officially opened the office in South Yarra and welcomed The Attachmate Group’s consolidation of its functions, operations and Asia Pacific decision-making in Melbourne.

“This is a globally important technology company that has, individually, revolutionised information and communication technology (ICT) in areas such as operations management, open source, end user computing and collaboration, and cloud computing.” Mr. Rich-Phillips said.

“Securing The Attachmate Group’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne further cements Victoria’s reputation as a globally competitive ICT hub.”

“This announcement follows the release of Victoria’s Technology Plan for the Future – Information and Communication Technology – an $85 Million plan to promote ICT-enabled innovation and support the growth of internationally competitive and recognised ICT businesses, such as The Attachmate Group.”

“Our government is investing in the ICT sector to ensure that the right conditions exist in Victoria to support the growth of ICT businesses and boost Victoria’s digital economy.”

The Attachmate Group comprises of four business units – Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE – that have been brought together to be headquartered in the new Melbourne office.

Boris Ivancic, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific, The Attachmate Group said the company was recognised for its ability to support customers’ strategic and tactical business requirements through innovative solutions, quality products, and exceptional service.

“The Asia Pacific is a very important region for us and a huge growth area for the company.” Mr. Ivancic said.
