Big Savings For Small-Scale Commercial Landscape Photographers
Victor P Taffa
Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith today announced that the fee for Parks Victoria’s Commercial Annual Landscape Photography Permit would be scrapped for small-scale photographers.
Mr. Smith said the $275 annual fee had been removed to ensure that landscape photographers can have free access to Victoria’s prized parks.
“Before the election the Coalition Government committed to reducing red tape. With this change to the photography permit system we have again delivered on this promise.” Mr. Smith said.
“By scrapping the cost attached to the small-scale commercial photography permits the Coalition Government has granted talented landscape photographers ready access to our parks.”
“Victoria has many talented photographers who help us to spread the word about our breathtaking park landscapes and wildlife.”
“While permits will still be required under the National Parks Act 1975 for management and park protection purposes, they will now be issued via a simple online system through Parks Victoria’s website at no charge.” Mr. Smith said.
“The removal of this fee is great news for all small-scale commercial photographers.”
Small-scale photography is defined as one photographer plus one assistant with low level equipment. Fees will only apply for larger commercial filming.
“Getting out and enjoying our parks is great for the community and for our mental and physical health.” Mr. Smith said.
“I encourage photographers to enjoy our parks and capture the imagery of our flora and fauna, leaving only footsteps behind.”
