South Australia Shadow Minister for Employment David Pisoni

SA Job Ads Continue To Decline Under Labor

Victor P Taffa

L-plate Premier-in-waiting Jay Weatherill will be inheriting a jobs crisis when he takes over next week with job advertisements falling again in September.

According to the ANZ report released today, the number of job advertisements has declined over the last 10 consecutive months and by 7.2 % over the last year.

Shadow Employment Minister David Pisoni said Labor’s instability under two half-baked Premiers means employment opportunities in South Australia continue to decline.

“Under Labor, employers are lacking the confidence to advertise and create new jobs.” Mr. Pisoni said.

“Over the past three years the number of jobs advertised in SA newspapers has more than halved proving Labor is failing to deliver on its 100,000 jobs promise.”

“To add the soaring cost of living pressures under Labor, South Australians are struggling to find jobs.”

“After nearly a decade of this Labor Government South Australia is in an employment crisis and there is no guarantee things will improve under Mr. Weatherill’s leadership.” Mr. Pisoni said.
