Victor P Taffa

Minister for Innovation, Services and Small Business, Louise Asher, today reminded Victoria’s businesses and households that daylight saving will start on Sunday 2 October 2011.

As Minister responsible for the Summer Time Act 1972, Ms. Asher said each year Victorians looked forward to enjoying six months with extra light at the end of the day.

“This year’s period will start at 2.00am on Sunday 2 October 2011, when clocks move forward to 3.00am.” Ms. Asher said.

“The start of daylight saving also serves as a good reminder for people to change batteries in smoke detectors.”

Daylight saving will end on Sunday 1 April 2012.
