Early Voting Options For The NSW State Election

The NSW State Election is on Saturday, 26 March 2011. Electors who can’t get to a polling place or who will be out of the State on Election Day have options to ensure they can still vote.
“Your vote is your voice and, to make sure you can be heard at the NSW State Election, we have options to allow people who can’t get to a polling place on Election Day to vote beforehand.” Electoral Commissioner, Colin Barry said today.
Pre-poll Voting
Electors unable to vote on Election Day, Saturday, 26 March can vote early at one of 167 Pre-poll voting centres across the State.
Pre-poll Voting Centres are open 8.00am to 6.00pm weekdays from Monday, 14 March to Friday, 25 March. Extended hours of operation are in place on Saturday, 19 March from 9.00am to 5.00pm and from 8.00am to 8.00pm on Thursday, 24 March.
Electors can vote while out of the State at a number of interstate and overseas locations. Pre-poll and Election Day voting are also available at the three terminals at Sydney Airport.
Interstate voting closes at COB on Friday, 25 March. Overseas voting closes at COB on Thursday, 24 March.

iVoting
Electronically assisted voting by telephone or on the internet is available to eligible people. iVote registrations close at 6.00pm Wednesday, 23 March. For information about eligibility and to register visit www.ivote.nsw.gov.au or call 1300 02 2011.
Postal Voting
Postal voting is also available to electors who are unable to vote in person on election day. You can apply for a postal vote online at www.votensw.info or by calling 1300 135 736.
Applications for postal voting must be received by 6.00pm on Wednesday, 23 March.
Electors are encouraged to apply as soon as possible in order to avoid any delays in postal delivery.
Voting is compulsory for all enrolled electors in New South Wales.
