Dalla-Riva Hits Back At Baseless Labor Claims

Dalla-Riva Hits Back At Baseless Labor Claims

Victoria Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations Richard Dalla-Riva

Statement By Minister Richard Dalla-Riva

Victor P Taffa

Fabricated ALP Allegations

The Labor Party has today used Parliamentary Privilege to make false and defamatory claims against me in the Parliament.

The claims today by the ALP are a complete fabrication and confirm that they are not fit to hold responsible Public Office.

In 1993, two letterbox bombs were detonated at my Personal Residence.

At this time, I was a senior Victorian Police Detective, seconded to the National Crime Authority. My wife was at the time an Inspector with the Australian Protective Service counterterrorism unit in Melbourne.

She was five months Pregnant at the time.

The targeted attacks on my family were the subject of a high-level Victoria Police investigation. The Special Operations Group was involved in Protection of me and my wife and in the investigation of the crimes.

Our house, where the bombs exploded, was first bought by my wife in 1987, six years before the incidents occurred and long before I even met my wife.

The LEAP database was not illegally nor inappropriately accessed by me.

I am formally writing to the Leader of the Opposition today, demanding that he publicly apologise for these outrageous, false and defamatory claims in Parliament today by members of the Opposition.

If the claims are made outside of Parliament, I intend to issue legal proceedings.
