Following a public meeting held in June 2008 and other pressure from residents the ‘Berlin Wall’ of Darvall Road West Ryde has finally been removed and the road restored.
The problem for Darvall Road began during heavy rains in November 2007 when old drainage pipes rusted through and the road subsided. Barriers were erected and this restricted safety for motorists on Darvall Road as the ‘landslip’ occurred at the base of the steep incline that intersects with Warrawong Street.

Darvall Road During Road Works
There are some other footpaths that are still to be installed however Ryde City Council and the Councillors should be thanked for listening and acting to resolving the most pressing concerns for the residents of Darvall Road.

The Southern Thunderer originally published an article in October 2009 entitled ‘Devlin Street Fiddled As Darvall Road Slipped Away’ and so as Ryde City Council has acted the residents say many thanks.
