Victoria Shadow Minister for Responsible Scrutiny of Government David Davis
SUMMERTIME, AND THE LIVING IS EASY FOR TREASURER AS VIC FAMILIES SUFFER
Victor P Taffa
Summertime is junket time for the Victorian Treasurer, with revelations today a six-day tour of India by John Lenders earlier this year cost Victorians $18,000 bringing the Treasurer’s total travel bill met by taxpayers over the last three summers to $90,840.32.
Shadow Minister Responsible for Scrutiny of Government David Davis said the Treasurer’s lavish trips were a luxury not available to Victorian families struggling to access basic transport and health services.

“John Brumby’s Treasurer keeps rolling out the banana lounge and dusting off the boardshorts for taxpayer-funded summer junkets while Victorian families are forced to tighten their belts because of Labor’s high fees, bills and taxes.” Mr. Davis said.
In the last four financial quarters, John Brumby and his ministers have racked up more than $440,000 in travel at taxpayers’ expense.
“John Brumby’s arrogant Treasurer is happy to slug families billions for Labor’s Smart Meter Mess and myki fiasco while he jets off every summer for another junket.” Mr. Davis said.
