Comanchero OMCG member charged with firearm offences – Gangs Squad
A member of the Comanchero OMCG has been charged by Police with firearm related offences following investigations under Strike Force Eastbourne.
Detectives today charged a 28-year-old man with:
- Possess unauthorised pistol,
- Not keep firearm safely/prohibited firearm.
The man remains in custody and will appear at Central Local Court on 22 February, 2010.
The charges relate to ongoing investigations by Strike Force Eastbourne detectives, following the location of a .25 calibre automatic self-loading pistol during a search warrant at a unit at Hurstville in April 2009.
Strike Force Eastbourne comprises detectives from the State Crime Command Gangs Squad and was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft of 12 cars from a holding yard at Liverpool last year.
It will be alleged that 12 new motor vehicles were stolen from the holding yard on Shepherd Street at Liverpool, in Sydney’s South-West, about 6am on Saturday 14 February 2009.
Police will allege the estimated total value of the stolen vehicles is $500,000.
Following extensive investigations Police have now recovered all 12 of the stolen vehicles.
Five men were previously charged in relation to theft.
