Five teenagers arrested, charged over violent Railway Station brawl – Merrylands
Five teenagers have been charged by Police over a violent brawl at a Western Sydney Railway Station.
About 11.15am yesterday (Friday 5 February), Police from Holroyd Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics were called to Merrylands Railway Station following an incident involving six teenagers.
Two males, aged 18 and 19, received multiple stab wounds during the incident and a 16-year-old male received other minor injuries. All three were taken by Ambulance to Westmead Hospital for treatment.
Two of these have since been released from hospital, arrested and charged by Police with affray. The two have been granted bail to appear in court at a later date.
General Duties Officers arrested a 15-year-old Auburn boy in nearby Granville Park shortly after the incident. Two other youths, aged 14 and 15, were taken into custody after being found hiding in a drain.
They were taken to Merrylands Police Station and questioned over the brawl.
The 15-year-old Auburn boy was subsequently charged with malicious wounding in company and affray. The 14-year-old boy from Granville was charged with affray and both have been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today.
The 15-year-old South Granville boy was charged with affray and conditionally bailed to appear in court on a date to be set.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
