Man charged following shooting – Tahmoor
A man has been charged following a shooting incident in Sydney’s South-West yesterday.
Shortly before 1am Police were called to a home in Patterson Road, Tahmoor, following reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival Police located a 21-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen, legs and arms.
He was taken by ambulance to Campbelltown Hospital in a serious but stable condition. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Following inquiries Police executed a search warrant at a home in Short Street, Tahmoor, and allegedly located and seized four firearms and ammunition.
Police from Bowral then stopped a Northbound vehicle on the Hume Highway at Mittagong and arrested a 21-year-old Tahmoor man about 9.30am.
He was taken to Camden Police Station where he was subsequently charged with:
- Discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm,
- Specially aggravated break and enter committing an indictable offence,
- Firing a firearm in or near a public place.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
