Police release images of jewellery found on body – Griffith
Detectives have released images of the jewellery found on the body of a partially burnt body of a man found near Griffith on Tuesday (29 December).
About 9am a member of the public found the man’s body on the side of Wilga Road at Willbriggie.
Police from Griffith Local Area Command established a crime scene and detectives from the Homicide Squad are assisting with the investigation.

Griffith Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Paul Smith said the man is yet to be identified and his death is being treated as a homicide.
“This is being treated as a homicide investigation and our primary focus at this time is to identify the victim,” Detective Inspector Paul Smith said.

“All we know at this stage is that the victim is an adult male with a medium to solid build and about 171 cm tall.
“He was found wearing a white T-shirt with GVI or possibly GVT written in large letters on the front.”
Investigators have released images of the jewellery the man was wearing at the time of his death – a ring, bracelet and earring.
“They are very distinctive pieces and we are hoping that someone will recognise them,” Det. Inspector Paul Smith.
“The police rely on the public’s help in investigations like this and anyone that calls us can be assured their call will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
Investigators are very keen to speak to two people who were near a water regulator on Wilga Road, Willbriggie on the evening of Monday, December 28 2009.
