Body recovered from Lake Hume

Albury Police and volunteers have recovered the body of a man who had been missing after a boating mishap on Lake Hume last night.

Two men and a boy were on a motor boat about 8.15pm when the boat capsized about 200m offshore.

The eight-year-old boy managed to swim to shore and raise the alarm, while a 26-year-old man clung to a tree stump until rescued by a local resident.

Members of the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) recovered the boat and searched the lake until 9.30pm without success, and resumed the search this morning.

VRA divers found the body of a 34-year-old man shortly after 9am, about 150m off the boat ramp at Bowna reserve.

The man was from the Albury area.
