Today Tuesday 19 December, 2017 The Southern Thunderer reaches an achievement of having published 15,000 articles and we would like to thank all the readers from across Australia and around the world that have consistently logged onto The Southern Thunderer and kept up-to-date with the news.

This article is the 15,000th to be published or written from scratch since 14 October 2009. In publishing 15,000 articles, material is pasted from a formatted word document which is then copied and pasted into the admin page and then formatted again. Images are placed as required. At every stage of the process spelling and grammar checks are conducted and every article is read before being published.

Also involved is to deal with I.T. experts who are able to keep The Southern Thunderer on-line and overcome I.T. issues that have cropped up since 14 October 2009.

Freedom Of Speech

In a democracy where freedom of speech has been fought long and hard for it is a privilege to publish news without fear or favour.

New South Wales is a State within one of the world’s oldest continuing democracies and this is something that we should all celebrate and never take for granted.

Ambitions In Life

Every person no matter what they are doing in life should have ambitions. This could be a Probationary Constable who just joined Police Ranks. That person should see themselves to become Police Commissioner. Other Police Officers may hold different ambitions in Policing such as Detective work. Either way they are ambitions. To achieve your ambitions hard work, focus and dedication is required.

This also includes other people such as:

  • Accountants,
  • Cricketers,
  • Lawyers,
  • Footballers,
  • Sales assistants,
  • Street sweepers,
  • Ticket sellers at Royal Randwick Racecourse,
  • Train Drivers.

All people should have ambitions.

Ambition should never be stifled or quashed by people who question a person’s ability.

In all cases people must want to do the best that they can at what they are doing. Using talent given to the best of their ability.

Long before The Southern Thunderer began Editor Victor P Taffa has held ambitions to become a Member of the Parliament of New South Wales. As a Member of the Parliament of New South Wales The Southern Thunderer will continue to be produced in what is a free and democratic society.

As a Member of Parliament Victor will work towards having new heavy technology railway lines built and that High Speed Rail (At speeds of 500 km/h) operates to every Australian Capital City including Hobart via a Rail Ferry across Bass Strait.

Mission Statement
