10 Local Sporting Projects Receives Support From Berejiklian Govt

Funding Boost For 10 Local Sporting Projects

Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson has announced $50,000 in New South Wales Government funding for sporting projects across the electorate as part of the 2016/17 Local Sport Grant Program.

10 projects have been successful in receiving funding, including:

  • Cowra Bowling & Recreation Club Ltd has received $2,000 to purchase uniforms and junior bowls equipment;
  • Grenfell & District Junior Rugby League Inc, $2,000 to provide Level 1 training course for 10 participants;
  • Gundagai Swimming Club Inc, $1,954 for aqua fitness for all ages;
  • Marrar Football & Netball Club Inc has received $19,000 for the construction of a new all-weather netball court at Langtry Oval;
  • Narrandera Basketball Association Inc, $4,995 to subsidise registration fees for 2017;
  • Narrandera Cricket Inc, $2,000 for the extension of the cricket nets training facility at Henry Mathieson Oval;
  • Narrandera Little Athletics Inc has received $2,500 to purchase athletics equipment and uniforms;
  • West Wyalong Amateur Swim Club $9,990 for the installation of solar panels at Holland Park Swim Centre;
  • Young Amateur Swimming Association, $4,061 to purchase new lane ropes;
  • Young Rugby Union Football Club has received $1,500 for the purchase new game and training equipment.

“Aim of this program is to support regular participation in sport and to increase active involvement in recreational activities across New South Wales.” Ms. Hodgkinson said.

“Sport is a huge part of our way of life in regional towns and the New South Wales Government recognises how important it is for both social and health reasons.”
